KT Marine chooses Damen for their latest high-speed ferry acquisition.

Damen's ferry design FFe 4212 has been chosen for its seventh high-speed ferry tailored for the South Korean market by KT Marine.

KT Marine president Og Yeol Bag expressed satisfaction with the quality and timely delivery of Damen's Fast Ferry 4212 after signing the contract.

Damen's Fast Ferry 4212, a 42-meter aluminum catamaran, boasts a capacity of 423 passengers and a top speed of 40 knots.

The vessel is equipped with four main engines producing 5,760 bkW, powering four waterjets, ensuring reliability and high onboard comfort.

KT Marine's management team believes Damen's Fast Ferry 4212 will enhance their service standards, providing top-notch comfort and reliability for customers.

The new vessel will operate on a route connecting Yeosu harbour and Geomundo Island along the south coast of South Korea.

Damen employs a speculative building strategy, with the KT Marine vessel already under construction at Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam.

The completed Fast Ferry 4212 is expected to be ready for delivery to KT Marine by mid-2024.

Damen welcomes KT Marine as a new client, with regional sales director Thomas Röwekamp expressing honor and appreciation for the partnership.

Röwekamp highlighted KT Marine's thorough consideration of available options and affirmed that the Fast Ferry 4212 will be a valuable addition to South Korea's ferry market.

Particularly on the picturesque Yeosu to Geomundo Island route.
